Ben-Gurion’s
After retiring from office, Israel’s first prime minister David Ben-Gurion spent the last twenty years of his life in a hut in Sde Boker with his wife Paula. The hut has been preserved since Ben-Gurion’s death in 1973, enabling the observer to examine the couple’s separate rooms and the belongings they kept by their beds: the curtains, sunglasses and family photos next to Paula’s bed; and the worn-out slippers, pack of band-aids, small box containing an electric shaver, as well as the books, most published posthumously, next to David’s bed.
