A series of 35mm black-and-white photographs shot from extreme long distances using a Spotting Scope, an instrument typically employed for birdwatching or security surveillance practices, and then digitally printed.
Some of the images are landscapes around residential areas, and some are photographs of interiors — a gaze into a living room, details of living spaces. Night shots and day shots. These are fragile images, with a “damaged” optical quality and a clear pictorial appearance.
The thematic of these works are minor and abstract, devoid of human presence, and of a specific connection to local history and geography. It departs from photography that is colorful, large, and spectacular, in favor of images that are sensitive to earlier histories of the medium.
