A concrete sewage pipe blocked on either side by large sections of concrete roadblocks. An A4 sheet of paper printed with the words ‘safe room’ is taped to the pipe. In the case of a rocket attack, workers and visitors at the Beersheba zoo are expected to seek shelter inside the pipe. The object appears almost as an ironic sculptural cliché, referencing the ethos of modernism. It is a temporary improvisation but will apparently remain there forever.
